Day I
Bucharest ? Sinaia / 125 kms
Arrival to Bucharest ? Otopeni airport. Meeting with our professional guide. Transfer to Sinaia ? the ?Pearl of the Carpathians? ? a resort situated at 125 km from Bucharest. Sinaia combines the values of a mountain and winter sports resort with the natural factors that are at the service of the human health and recovery. Dinner. Accommodation in Sinaia, hotel***.

Day II
Sinaia ? Brasov / 150 kms
Breakfast. Visit of the Peles Castle, one of the most important museums which combine various architectural styles, notably elements of the German and gothic Renaissance. It represents invaluable collections of art and furniture. Peles Castle was the final resting place for several Romanian monarchs including King Carol I, King Ferdinand and Queen Maria. We will take lunch in a nice restaurant near the castle. In the after-noon we continue our trip to Bran Castle ? a spectacular, medieval fortress, including a tentative connection with Prince Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler). Arrival in Brasov. Traditional dinner. Accommodation in Brasov, hotel***.

Day III
Brasov ? Targu Mures / 200 kms
Breakfast. Visit of this picturesque old town with its German gothic and baroque influences. Visit of the Black Church which is the biggest gothic cathedral in Eastern Europe, the Council Square and St. Nicolae Orthodox Church. Departure to Sighisoara ? the museum town. Lunch in the house of Vlad Dracul ? the oldest civilian stone building of the town. A walking visit of the fortress: the Clock tower ? the symbol of the town, the Tanners? Tower, the Tinkers? Tower, the Goldsmiths? Tower, the Butchers Tower and not only; the stair passage built in 1662, the Church on the Hill ? one of the oldest churches in Romania (1345). Late in the afternoon arrival in Targu Mures. We take a panoramic tour of the city: the Reformed Church an interesting monument of architecture in Gothic style, the Medieval Fortress built in the 15th century, expanded and reinforced with 7 bulwarks in the 17th century. Day IV
Targu Mures ? Sibiu / 335 kms
Breakfast. Visit the Palace of Culture, one of the most impressive buildings in the city, built between 1911 and 1913; the fa硤e is artistically adorned with remarkable statues and bas-reliefs. The famous ?Hall of Mirrors? draws attention with great number of stained glass windows, skillfully crafted, of Venice mirrors and elegant furniture; the building concentrates several cultural institutions as the Stat Philharmonic and Theatre, Museum of Art. Lunch on the way to Hunedoara where we can admire the Corvins Castle an imposing construction built in the Gothic style to which were added, later, elements characteristic of the renaissance and the Baroque reminding one of the famous castles on the Loire; initially the castle was a citadel erected on the ruins of Roman fortifications. In 1956 the castle was renovated and became a museum of feudal art. Late in the afternoon we arrive in Sibiu for accommodation and dinner, hotel***.

Day V
Sibiu ? Bucharest / 370 kms
Breakfast. The morning is dedicated to the medieval town of Sibiu. Visit the Evangelical Church (the first monument on the Romanian territory combining the archaic basilica with an elevation in Gothic Moorish style; it preserves mural paintings of 1445 and a renowned organ), the Brukenthal Palace with the beautiful parks and Brukenthal Museum (the oldest in the country and among the first museums in Europe, it comprises art sections, history, nature sciences, folkloric art sections and a library), the medieval fortifications represented by an impressive number of towers. Way to Sibiel, a small village at 20 kms far from Sibiu, to visit the rural museum with over 600 icons painted on glass, folk costumes, peasant furniture. Lunch in a traditional environment. Depart to Bucharest. Dinner and accommodation, hotel***.

Day VI
Bucharest / 100 kms
Breakfast. Visit the Cotroceni Palace which was once a princely residence, houses a museum with important collection of mediaeval art, becoming after 1991 the residence of the president of Romania. Continuation with the Palace of the Parliament erected between 1984 and 1989; until 1990 was known as the ?House of the People?. It has 6,000 rooms including hundreds of studies and dozens of reception and conference rooms for scientific, political and cultural sessions. After 1989 Revolution it became the headquarters of the Romanian Parliament and since 1994 it has housed the International Conference Centre. We?ll take a walk tour to the Old Court, one of the most romantic parts in Bucharest, visit the ruins of the Princely Court, the Stavropoleos Church, the Manuc?s Inn where we take lunch. In the afternoon we go to Mogosoaia, 14 kms from Bucharest, to see Mogosoaia Palace erected in the middle of a wonderful park, on the shores of a lake; it is one of the most successful expressions of Romanian secular architecture, a masterpiece of the Brancovan style; since 1957 the palace has been the Museum of Brancovan Art comprising, among others, silverware, sculptures, old fabrics, gold and silver thread embroideries, parchments, rare printed works with precious miniatures. Return in Bucharest. Dinner with folkloric program in a nice restaurant. Accommodation, hotel***.

Day VII
Bucharest / 50 kms
Breakfast. We take some time to visit the Village Museum, an area of more than 17 ha; opened in 1936 it contains peasant households with their complete inventory, from pieces of furniture to household tools and traditional technology installations, illustrating the village universe in all regions of Romania. Transfer to the airport.
