Day I
Bucharest ? Sinaia / 125 kms
Arrival to Bucharest ? Otopeni airport. Meeting with our professional guide. Transfer to Sinaia ? the ?Pearl of the Carpathians? ? a resort situated at 125 km from Bucharest. Sinaia combines the values of a mountain and winter sports resort with the natural factors that are at the service of the human health and recovery. Dinner. Accommodation in Sinaia, hotel***.

Day II
Sinaia ? Piatra Neamt / 355 kms
Breakfast. Visit of the Peles Castle, one of the most important museums which combine various architectural styles, notably elements of the German and gothic Renaissance. It represents invaluable collections of art and furniture. Peles Castle was the final resting place for several Romanian monarchs including King Carol I, King Ferdinand and Queen Maria. Continuation to Bran Castle ? a spectacular, medieval fortress, including a tentative connection with Prince Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler). Arrival in Brasov. Lunch in ?Casa Padurarului? hunting restaurant. Departure to Piatra Neamt through the Bicaz Gorges, one of the most impressive monuments of nature in Romania. Accommodation and dinner, hotel***.

Day III
Piatra Neamt ? Gura Humorului / 350 kms
Breakfast. Visit the Monastery of Neamt, one of the most valuable architectural sites in Romania, the most important centre of culture and art of the Medieval Moldavia. We can find here one of the oldest libraries in the country (more than 600 years old) as well as a museum illustrating the vivid cultural life that lasted here for centuries. At noon arrival for lunch in Radauti. Visit of Marginea village, the centre of folk art ? black and red pottery with polychrome glazing; we can find here workshops where the producers of the vases can be watched working ?live?. Continuation with the visit of Sucevita and Moldovita Monasteries, UNESCO monuments. Accommodation and dinner, hotel***.

Day IV
Gura Humorului ? Baia Mare / 350 kms
Breakfast. This day is a long, but beautiful one; we enter Maramures, the ?living museum?, an ancient region of Romania, a space where customs, traditions and nature beauty have resisted the erosion of time, a large natural amphitheatre. Here we find the incredible wooden churches, UNESCO monuments, unique in shapes and ornaments, specific to the Romanian style. Many of them house wood and glass paintings of an inestimable value: Bogdan Voda (inner painting), Rozavlea (mural painting from 1754), Barsana (the highest construction of this kind in Europe at 62 m). Lunch on the way. Visit of Sapanta village and the well-known ?Merry Cemetery?, spectacular in its originality; the crosses, most of them painted blue, are carved and painted with peasant faces, accompanied by very humorous texts, representing brief biographies of the dead person, with their qualities and shortcomings, their joys and grieves. In the evening arrival in Baia Mare ? the capital of the district Maramures. Accommodation and dinner, hotel***.

Day V
Baia Mare ? Sighisoara / 300 kms
Breakfast. Departure to Transylvania the heart of Romania. At noon arrival in Targu Mures, a panoramic tour of the city: the Reformed Church an interesting monument of architecture in Gothic style, the Medieval Fortress built in the 15th century, expanded and reinforced with 7 bulwarks in the 17th century. Lunch. Final destination for this day is Sighisoara ? the museum town. A walking visit of the fortress: the Clock tower ? the symbol of the town, the Tanners? Tower, the Tinkers? Tower, the Goldsmiths? Tower, the Butchers Tower and not only; the stair passage built in 1662, the Church on the Hill ? one of the oldest churches in Romania (1345), the house of Vlad Dracul ? the oldest civilian stone building of the town. Day VI
Sighisoara ? Bucharest / 435 kms
Breakfast. Departure to the medieval town of Sibiu. Visit the Evangelical Church (the first monument on the Romanian territory combining the archaic basilica with an elevation in Gothic Moorish style; it preserves mural paintings of 1445 and a renowned organ), the Brukenthal Palace with the beautiful parks and Brukenthal Museum (the oldest in the country and among the first museums in Europe, it comprises art sections, history, nature sciences, folkloric art sections and a library), the medieval fortifications represented by an impressive number of towers. Way to Sibiel, a small village at 20 kms far from Sibiu, to visit the rural museum with over 600 icons painted on glass, folk costumes, peasant furniture. Lunch in a traditional environment. Depart to Bucharest through the Olt Valley with a stop to Cozia Monastery ? one of the most valuable architectural monuments of the 14th century and a starting point for the Byzantine style in Walachia; the monastery has a valuable museum of religious art, old prints, manuscripts, and jewel. Sightseeing of Bucharest on the way to the hotel, with the presentation of the most important monuments. We take a short walk in the old part of the city visiting the ruins of the Old Court, the Manuc?s Inn, the Stavropoleos Church. Dinner and accommodation, hotel***.

Day VII
Bucharest / 50 kms
Breakfast. Visit the Palace of the Parliament erected between 1984 and 1989; until 1990 was known as the ?House of the People?. It has 6,000 rooms including hundreds of studies and dozens of reception and conference rooms for scientific, political and cultural sessions. After 1989 Revolution it became the headquarters of the Romanian Parliament and since 1994 it has housed the International Conference Centre. On the way to the airport we stop for a visit of the Village Museum, an area of more than 17 ha; opened in 1936 it contains peasant households with their complete inventory, from pieces of furniture to household tools and traditional technology installations, illustrating the village universe in all regions of Romania. Transfer to the airport.
